More Than a Kennel
We wanted to create the kind of place we would feel completely comfortable leaving our own dogs. Carlson Hills is located on our family's 20-acre property, where we live on-site and are actively involved in the kennel every day. Our purpose-built facility offers comfortable climate-controlled accommodations, indoor space for play and training, large outdoor areas and plenty of room for dogs to simply be dogs. But a great facility is only part of it. We get to know the dogs in our care. Their personalities, play styles, routines, quirks and individual needs all matter to us. Because good dog care shouldn't be one-size-fits-all.
About Us
Jerred and I (Ashley) both both grew up in Kamloops and met in high school. We have two boys, Caleb and Cayden, and two Labrador Retrievers, Sadie and Piper. We both grew up with dogs, but ever since I was a kid, I have wanted a chocolate Labrador Retriever and a "Puppy Farm." I always got a warm, buttery feeling every time I saw a lab, and one year later, Jerred surprised me on my birthday with our first lab, Bromley. We brought Bromley with us EVERYWHERE, and he impacted our lives, friends, and family. In January 2024, we had to say goodbye to Bromley; it was the hardest thing I have ever done. The memories we create with our fur babies imprint on our lives.
In 2022, Jerred and I purchased 20 acres of bare land and built our second home together, and the opportunity for my "puppy farm" began to happen. I met my inspiring neighbour Linda Cline (Someday Retrievers), who shared my passion for Labs. It wasn't until soon after that that we became great partners, and now we breed Labrador Retrievers together at our facility. I am honoured to learn from a truly inspiring woman who has been breeding and training dogs in the industry for over 30 years.
My passion for dogs continued to grow (literally too much for our house), and in the fall of 2023, with the help of family and friends, we began building our custom dog kennel. I wish Bromley could have seen Carlson Hills Dog Kennel finished, but in his memory, I am dedicated to providing a fun, safe environment for all dogs.
